What are Affiliate Programs and how can they bring Traffic to Your Site?

Affiliate programs are a process in which you, as the affiliate sales person, are advertising and selling other people's products, while collecting a substantial cut of the profits. (With one-time only sales, your share can run from 50 to 100 percent, depending on the program.) Ongoing or long-term services such as Web hosting, autoresponders, and membership programs pay less (10% to 20%), but you continue to collect month after month, as long as the subscriber uses the service.

With WebMoneyTraining you have several products ready and waiting for you to sell and earn 100% of the profit, That means with every single sale you make, you keep 100% of the monies.

The reason many Internet marketing beginners start out as affiliates is that this type of marketing does not require a large investment in order to begin selling the products. You do not need a great deal of experience or years of education, either -- although you do have to learn certain things.

The affiliate owners or merchants have created most of the sales tools for you, so that all you have to do is generate traffic. By creating a simple blog or web page for each program, publishing some articles on article directory sites related to your topic, and working in a few ad campaigns, you can be making money fairly quickly (if you haven chosen your product and keywords correctly).

Most other methods of online selling require more work and resources, plus more money in start-up costs. As an affiliate, you can build your business for very little upfront cost. You do not even need a business/company Web site, although having one will help you to appear more professional and to increase conversion (sales of affiliate products increase with a pre-sales page). There are many affiliates who simply put up a free blog or Web pages on weebly.com and start earning.

The major issue you will confront as a reseller of other people's products is finding ways in which to attract traffic to your blog or web page, and then to the affiliate page through your link. The quickest method of attracting this traffic is to use advertising -- and on the Internet, the main method is known as pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. In as little time as a day or two, you can have your ad program up and running. However, as with anything else, you need to learn some important concepts in order to avoid losing money with this method.

Google AdWords and Yahoo Search Marketing are the two major companies you will be considering with this option. Pay-per-click (PPC) ads are found at the top (top three sponsored listings), and on the right side of the Google search results. You pay for your ad only when someone clicks on it. If you or someone else does a Google search and clicks on one of the ads just mentioned, the advertiser will pay for that. The cost ranges from as little as 10 cents per click to over $50, depending on the keywords.

If you have a PPC campaign, when someone clicks on your ad, they will go to the page on your site that you designate -- your "landing page". The topic of PPC is discussed in depth in the search marketing section and available videos.

Luckily, there are also a number of free ways to attract traffic, some of them will be discussed herein -- including article marketing, blog and forum posting, and social networking, as well as SEO. In fact, there is a great deal of search engine optimization in effective article marketing, which will be discussed in Article Marketing and available videos.
